Please note that our Nurse Clinic is staffed by one Nurse Practitioner, and appointments are preferred to ensure availability.
What can our Nurse Practitioner help with?
Our Nurse Practitioner CAN provide:

Ongoing management of HIV
-
Non-occupational PEP for potential HIV exposures outside of a workplace setting
-
Treatment for all diagnosed/detected STIs including chlamydia, gonorrhoea and syphilis
-
Testing and treatment for the management of anogenital STI symptoms –
-
including dysuria (burning/stinging when you pee), pruritus (itching), sores or ulcers, balanitis (inflammation/redness of the penis head), vulvitis (inflammation/redness of the vulva), proctitis (inflamed rectum), unusual discharge, suspected syphilis rash
-
-
Cryotherapy for genital HPV management
(freezing of warts) -
Testing for STIs other than chlamydia, gonorrhoea, HIV and syphilis if you have been told a sexual partner has tested positive for them (e.g., Mycoplasma genitalium)

Presumptive treatment for syphilis for people contact traced by a recent (last 3 months) sexual partner

Management of Hepatitis B (HBV)

Treatment for Hepatitis C (HCV)
Our Nurse Practitioner CANNOT provide:
-
Asymptomatic routine STI testing (see our testing clinic)

Ongoing PrEP management (i.e., PrEP scripts for people who have taken PrEP before)
-
Any type of contraception, including oral contraceptives and insertion/removal of IUDs
-
Gynaecological services such as colposcopy or endometriosis concerns
-
Cervical HPV testing (“pap smear” or cervical screening test)
-
Gender affirming care, such as HRT
-
HRT for peri/menopause or other issues
-
Termination of pregnancy medication
-
Standalone appointments for Doxy-PEP
-
Pathology collection when requested by another practitioner

Our accessibility lift at our Ann Street clinic may be unavailable due to persistent vandalism.
If you require wheelchair friendly or mobility friendly testing at RAPID, please contact the us during opening hours (details above) to arrange an appointment for free testing at our office in East Brisbane (24 hours notice preferred).
We are able to provide Auslan interpreters and language interpreters by appointment, please contact us to arrange.
